PRIMARY CARE
Primary care doctor is a doctor who acts as a first point of consultation for all patients and also provides continuity of care. Primary care is also described as the medical care received on first contact with the medical system before being referred elsewhere if needed.

Primary care is that care provided by physicians specifically trained for and skilled in comprehensive first contact and continuing care for persons with any undiagnosed sign, symptom, or health concern (the “undifferentiated” patient) not limited by problem origin (biological, behavioral, or social), organ system, or diagnosis.

An Internal Medicine doctor can be a Primary Care Doctor as well as a Specialist who can diagnose and manage chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD, Asthma, Thyroid Diseases and Arthritis among others. read more.

PREVENTIVE MEDICAL CARE
At Patel Medical Center, Internal Medicine, we focus on Preventive medicine and practice this daily. Our doctors educate their patients on how they can participate in their own medical care.

Preventive medicine or preventive care refers to measures taken to prevent illness or injury, rather than curing them.
Preventive medicine helps the patient by helping with early diagnosis and management of serious medical conditions. This helps to reduce cost of treatment thereby reducing overall healthcare costs of treating chronic diseases. read more
